No Nothing Phone 4 This Year: Nothing Bets Big on the 4a

Nothing, in a recent update, outlined its plans for 2026 following a milestone year of $1 billion in sales and gaining unicorn status in 2025. The headline news is what isn’t happening: there will be no Nothing flagship Phone 4 this year.

The Phone 3 will remain the flagship device for 2026, as mentioned by Carl Pei, CEO of Nothing. The company refuses to churn out a new flagship simply to fill a calendar slot. Instead, the focus shifts to the Phone 4a series. This new device aims to deliver a near-flagship experience, elevating materials, design, and camera performance beyond typical mid-range expectations.

Nothing Phone 4a might cost more than Phone 3a

RAM prices are surging, driven by the massive demand for AI computing. This price hike affects the entire electronics spectrum, from smartphones to laptops and Chromebooks. As a result, Nothing confirmed inevitable price increases across its portfolio. It is a signal for the broader tech market: hardware is getting more expensive.

The brand is also expanding its physical footprint. A new headquarters in London and a flagship store opening in Bangalore on February 14th mark the beginning. Plans are also underway for retail spaces in Tokyo and the US, moving the brand from a digital favorite to a physical reality.
